Code of Conduct
Our Commitment
At Landcent, we accelerate the fight against diseases of poverty, starting with malaria. We develop and deliver solutions that prevent, diagnose, and treat these diseases, addressing both local realities and systemic barriers to health.
We are committed to acting with integrity, respect, and accountability in everything we do. Our Code of Conduct sets out the ethical standards we expect from everyone who represents Landcent and guides how we work with our partners, suppliers, and the communities we serve.
Landcent supports and complies with the United Nations Supplier Code of Conduct and aligns with international standards on human rights, labour, the environment, and anticorruption.
Who This Code Applies To
This Code applies to all people who act on behalf of Landcent, including:
- Employees
- Directors and officers
- Contractors and agents
- Other representatives performing services for Landcent
We also expect our partners, suppliers, and other external stakeholders to act consistently with the principles set out in this Code and in our Supplier Code of Conduct.
1. Legal Compliance and Ethical Behaviour
We expect everyone connected with Landcent to:
- Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies
- Make decisions based on honesty, fairness, and respect
- Speak up about suspected misconduct or unethical behaviour
Where our internal standards are higher than local legal requirements, we follow our own standards.
2. AntiBribery and AntiCorruption
Landcent has a zerotolerance approach to bribery, corruption, and facilitation payments.
- We never offer, promise, give, or accept bribes or improper benefits to gain or retain business or any other advantage.
- We only give and receive gifts or hospitality that are reasonable, transparent, and in line with our policies.
- We strictly prohibit facilitation payments, except in rare situations where necessary to prevent loss of life or physical harm, in which case they must be reported immediately.
We do not make political contributions on behalf of Landcent. Charitable donations and product contributions must comply with all applicable laws and may never be used to influence a business decision.
3. Fair Competition, AntiMoney Laundering, and Sanctions
We support fair and open competition and comply with competition and antitrust laws in every country where we operate. This means we do not engage in:
- Pricefixing
- Market or customer allocation
- Bidrigging or any other anticompetitive arrangements
We also:
- Prohibit any involvement in money laundering or the financing of terrorism
- Conduct appropriate due diligence to understand the identity of our partners and the source of funds
- Comply with relevant sanctions and embargoes imposed by bodies such as the United Nations, OFAC, OECD, and other competent authorities
4. Human Rights and Labour Practices
Landcent upholds the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work. We are committed to:
- Respecting human dignity and human rights in all our operations
- Supporting freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining, where permitted by law
- Providing equal opportunities and prohibiting discrimination based on gender, race, nationality, religion, disability, or any other protected characteristic
- Prohibiting forced, bonded, or involuntary labour
- Prohibiting child labour, and never employing anyone under 15 years of age (or under the legal schoolleaving age if higher)
We do not tolerate any form of abuse, harassment, or mistreatment, including:
- Threats or acts of violence
- Sexual exploitation or abuse
- Verbal, psychological, or physical harassment
- Coercion, intimidation, or corporal punishment
Everyone who works with or for Landcent has the right to a professional environment free from fear, harm, and discrimination.
5. Health, Safety, and Wellbeing
We prioritise the health, safety, and wellbeing of our people and the communities we serve. We:
- Maintain safe and healthy workplaces that meet or exceed applicable health and safety laws
- Provide appropriate training, procedures, and equipment to work safely
- Expect all workers to follow safety rules, use required protective equipment, and promptly report hazards or incidents
6. Environmental Protection and Sustainability
Protecting the environment is essential to our mission.
Landcent is committed to:
- Complying with all applicable environmental laws and regulations
- Minimising our environmental footprint by using resources efficiently, reducing waste, and preventing pollution
- Integrating environmental considerations into our product development, operations, and supply chains
- Supporting the protection of wildlife and biodiversity as a core part of our sustainability efforts
7. Confidentiality, Data Protection, and Use of Assets
We safeguard the information and resources entrusted to us.
- We protect confidential and proprietary information belonging to Landcent, our partners, and our clients, and use it only for legitimate business purposes.
- We process personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable data protection laws.
- We use company property, funds, and intellectual assets responsibly and only for authorised business activities.
8. Speaking Up and NonRetaliation
We encourage anyone connected with Landcent to raise concerns about:
- Suspected violations of this Code
- Illegal or unethical conduct
- Risks to health, safety, human rights, or the environment
Concerns can be raised through our designated reporting channels, including the Head of Legal or the CEO. Reports are handled confidentially and investigated fairly to the extent possible.
Landcent strictly prohibits retaliation against anyone who, in good faith, raises a concern, reports a violation, or participates in an investigation.
9. Consequences of Misconduct
Violations of this Code, our policies, or applicable laws may result in:
- Disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or contracts
- Corrective measures, including training and process changes
- Termination of business relationships with third parties
- Referral to law enforcement or regulatory authorities, where appropriate
10. Continuous Improvement
We regularly review and update our Code of Conduct to reflect:
- Changes in laws and regulations
- Developments in best practice and ethical standards
- Feedback from our employees, partners, and stakeholders
Updated versions of our Code and related policies are made available to our teams and, where relevant, to our external partners.
