Landcent Unveils Bio-Heritage Initiative and Launches White Paper at UNGA79 Science Summit
We’re elated to share that during our session at the UNGA 79 Science Summit, we introduced the Bio-Heritage Initiative along with our White Paper.
The Bio-Heritage Initiative, co-founded by Landcent and the University of the Free State, is a pioneering effort to co-create global health solutions by integrating Indigenous knowledge with advanced scientific methodologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML).
The White Paper developed in collaboration with key partners, outlines a comprehensive policy framework for the protection and integration of Indigenous knowledge into national and global health systems. It emphasizes actionable recommendations on crucial topics such as data sovereignty, access and benefit-sharing, and the importance of actively engaging Indigenous communities in policy development. By prioritizing these elements, the framework aims to ensure that Indigenous knowledge is not merely viewed as a resource but is recognized as a foundational component in the co-creation of future healthcare solutions.
This initiative marks a significant step towards fostering equitable impact in global health, highlighting our commitment to integrating diverse perspectives in the fight for better health outcomes worldwide.
By merging Indigenous knowledge with advanced technologies like AI, we can unlock new potential for healthcare solutions that are both innovative and sustainable. We are committed to creating a future where Indigenous knowledge is recognized and integrated into the health systems that serve us all.
Join us in advocating for a healthcare landscape that is equitable, inclusive, and rooted in the wisdom of Indigenous communities.
We look forward to working together to foster a more inclusive and equitable healthcare environment!
